NYC’s Seven Scrumptious Breakfasts

We have heard our whole lives that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. By munching at these New York City restaurants, you will also discover how it is the best meal of the day.

1. Doughnut Plant

I feel confident in saying these are the best doughnuts you will ever consume in your life. Their doughnuts are made every day and the flavors are incredible. My personal favorite is the Crème Brûlée doughnut. Their coffee is just as smooth and decadent as their pastries and is really perfect for any time of the day. http://doughnutplant.com/

2. Friedman’s

Friedman’s breakfast always has quite a wait, but it is well worth it! Their comfort food always hits the spot, and is a definite crowd pleaser. They have everything from eggs to chicken and waffles (which is my personal favorite). When you go, also be sure to indulge in a mouth watering peach bellini! Additionally, Friedman’s wait staff is attentive and personable which just adds to the pleasant feel.  http://www.friedmanslunch.com/

3. Brooklyn Bagel & Coffee Company

When all you want is a bagel, this is the place to go! Their handrolled and waterboiled bagels are the perfect medium between doughy and crisp. With over 15 flavors of bagels, and 15 flavors of cream cheese, you cannot go wrong. They also specialize in egg sandwiches, baked goods, and oatmeal.  http://bkbagel.com/

4. Spoon & Tbsp

Tbsp has a homemade and dinning room-esque feel. Their seasonal organic produce is grown in upstate New York at Mountain Dell Farms. In addition, they have a daily delivery of meats and fish that are fresh, local, and organic when available. This is a great spot for brunch with friends. http://www.spoonnyc.com/

5. Friend of a Farmer

Friend of a Farmer has great indoor and outdoor seating. The cozy cottage serves local and organic food that has a mouthwateringly clean taste. They have an impressive range of breakfast food so even the most picky eater can find something! My favorite is the Farmers Garden in a Glass where they blend vegetables of your choosing into a delectable juice. http://www.friendofafarmerny.com/

6. E.A.T.

While the menu seems straightforward and basic, the food is anything but. Their simple food is a little taste of heaven and perfect for a light breakfast. http://www.elizabar.com/EAT-C25.aspx

7. The Egg Shop

Egg Shop NYC serves organic and locally sourced egg sandwiches in Soho NYC. They have everything from egg sandwiches, to poached and scrambled eggs. It is the ideal place to eat if you’re craving eggs! http://www.eggshopnyc.com/

Happy Eating!
