Not only are Carolina Herrera’s creations consistently timeless and striking, but they exude a sense of femininity unlike any other designer. Spectacularly shown in a story-book-like show, next year’s House of Herrera Fall season will include soft, structured pieces, as well as an earth-toned color palette.
Multiple textures and patterns is what caught the eye of audience-goers on the catwalk. Sequins, organza, fur, leather, and satin are only a few of the materials used in Ms. Herrera’s designs. Bold lips accompanied each model, with a slicked-back ponytail wrapped in a silvery ribbon.
Whimsical gowns, innovative yet tailored outerwear, and a collection of wide-legged pants showed that Ms. Herrera’s Spanish roots does not affect her ability to start new trends in America.
Die-hard Taylor Swift fans rejoiced upon realizing bff Karlie Kloss was the chosen model to open and close the show. Showcasing an off the shoulder and structured gown with a slight resemblance to ocean waves, Kloss demonstrated the supreme elegance of what Carolina Herrera ultimately is.
